India's government schools are in crisis.
Over 250 million children attend government schools across India — yet most lack clean drinking water, functional toilets, and basic textbooks. In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone, lakhs of children sit in crumbling classrooms with no electricity and no library.
Since 2019 we have visited 400+ schools across 23 districts. What we found was heartbreaking — and inspiring. That's why we don't stop.

"Then SSF stepped in. Today I have a classroom with a smart board — and a reason to come to school every morning."
Priya's school in Kosigi is one of 400+ that SSF has rebuilt — repairing toilets and water lines, installing digital classrooms, and giving children the tools their peers in private schools take for granted.

With 35+ years of public service across Andhra Pradesh, Shaik Mohammed Iqbal witnessed the systemic neglect of government-school education firsthand. In 2019 he walked into a rural government school and found 180 students without clean water, working toilets, or electricity. That day, Students & Schools Foundation was born.
Education is not charity — it is the most strategic investment a society can make. Every child in a government school carries the same potential as any child anywhere.— Shaik Mohammed Iqbal, Founder, SSF
Today the foundation is managed by Shaik Hyder Ali as Managing Trustee, bringing modern operations and a technology-first approach to the mission.
